Tamera Young (born on October 30 in 1986) is an American basketball player with the Las Vegas Aces of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). After playing in the NCAA tournament for James Madison University, Young was selected with the Atlanta Dream with the 8th overall pick in 2008’s WNBA Draft. The team traded her to the Chicago Sky, and led them to the WNBA Finals in 2015. She later returning to Atlanta and was transferred with the Aces in the year 2018.
On the 12th of August on the 12th of August 2009 Young got traded to Chicago Sky in exchange for Armintie Price.
Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, Tamera Young is the daughter of the late Greg Young and Lynda Nichols-Brown and John Brown. She has an older brother, A.J., and two older sisters, Nikia and Valerie. Her cousin, Willie Williams, was a cornerback for the National Football League’s Pittsburgh Steelers and a 13-year NFL veteran (Steelers 1993–96, 2005; Seattle Seahawks 1997–2003). Tamera is the all-time leading scorer at Emsley A. Laney High School, the same high school that produced Michael Jordan, where her number 11 jersey is retired. During her senior year she led the “Buccaneers to the 2004 Conference Championship. During her off-seasons she spends her time with her girlfriend, Mimi Faust, in Atlanta raising awareness about pancreatic cancer to which she lost her father on April 6, 2015.
On February 1, 2018, Young signed a contract with the Las Vegas Aces.
Tamera played for the collegiate team in the NCAA Division at James Madison University in the Colonial Athletic Association. Tamera set numerous records in the university as well as the league’s all-time scoring record. As as a senior she played JMU into the finals of the WNIT and then lost in the final to University of Kentucky.

In the off-season of 2008-2009 after her debut season with the WNBA, Young went to Latvia and was a player for Cesis. In the off-season of 2009-2010, Young was in Turkey and was a player for Pankup.
