Shantel Krebs is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 28, 1973 in De Smet, South Dakota, United States. Shantel has been elected to the post as South Dakota Secretary of State in 2014. She was officially sworn into office on January 2 in 2015.

On June 5, 2019, Krebs, a board member of the Miss America Organization, replaced former Miss America 1989 and former Fox News personality Gretchen Carlson as Chairperson of the Miss America Organization.

Krebs was the representative for the 10th District from the South Dakota Legislature from 2005 until 2015, and was a member of the House of Representatives from 2005-2011 and in the Senate from 2011 to 2015. Krebs has been elected to whip positions of majority in both chambers. She was chairperson of both the Transportation committee of the House as well as the Agriculture & Natural Resources committee in the Senate. Her district encompassed Lincoln County and Minnehaha County.

Shantel Krebs, formerly was known as Shantel Swedlund. She was Miss South Dakota 1997 and participated for Miss South Dakota 1997 and the Miss America 1998 competition. She lives within Fort Pierre on a ranch with her husband, who was a former TV anchor Mitch Krebs. In 2016 Krebs was the subject of media attention after she killed a rattlesnake her patio back.

Krebs ran unsuccessfully in the 2018 election for South Dakota’s at-large congressional seat in the Republican primary.
