Rick Elias is one of the most popular and richest American singer-songwriter who was born on January 7, 1955 in San Diego, California, United States. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. A Ragamuffin Band members and The Jesus Record performers held a benefit concert on February 2, 2019, to raise funds for his medical bills. Elias passed away from brain cancer on April 2, 2019.
Later, Elias produced and wrote music in Nashville, Tennessee. He also performed solo across the U.S. as well as internationally. His music was featured in The Thing You Do! 1996, Dawsons Creek, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and other independent films and TV shows. Elias has produced for many artists, including Rich Mullins and Amy Grant. Four solo albums were released by Elias. His work was nominated by the UCMVA, GMA, and the Nashville Music Awards. Rick Elias and The Confessions was his first solo album. CCM Magazine listed his 58th greatest album in Christian music as the Top 100 in 2001.
