The first two years of McCallum’s high school career were spent at Bloomington High School North in Bloomington, Indiana. In the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men’s basketball season, he was named the Horizon League Player of the Year after leading the Horizon League in scoring at 18.7 points per game and guiding the Detroit Titans to a berth in the 2013 National Invitation Tournament.
