In 1983 Kent moved to Los Angeles to pursue a film career. After six months living at the YMCA off Sunset beach he met director James Cameron who offered him the role of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stunt man. Some years before this Kent had been involved in a motor vehicle accident where he received multiple skull fractures, broken cheekbones, a crushed nose and a fractured jaw. This had made his face resemble Arnold Schwarznegger.
Kent continued to work with Schwarzenegger for over two decades, performing many stunts. In 1996 while filming Eraser, Kent was almost killed when he was struck by a three-ton shipping container. After this he decided to stop working with stunts.
