In 2008, Shrestha debuted as a film actress in Alok Nembang’s directional debut romantic comedy Sano Sansar, where she starred alongside Karma Shakya in his debut, Jiwan Luitel and Neer Shah. The film follows Ravi (played by Karma Shakya) and Reetu (played by Shrestha) whom are good friends online; however both have clue about that they hate each other in the real life. The film was influenced by 2001 Korean film My Sassy Girl and 1998 American film You’ve Got Mail. In an interview she revealed that “I did Sano Sansar, my first movie, without any training, and I have come a long way”.
