American basketball player Lewis Kevin Lloyd was born February 22, 1959 and died July 5, 2019. He was a 6’6″ swingman at Drake University and played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association throughout his professional career.
Houston released Lloyd shortly after his September 1989 reinstatement. He retired at the end the season with two games remaining. Lloyd had an average of 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 388 games. In 1986, the Rockets lost 4-2 to Boston Celtics after Lloyd was also in 20 post-season games.
Lloyd was suspended from the NBA but he played in the 1988-89 Continental Basketball Association season for the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets. Over 18 games, he averaged 18.8 points per game and 6.6 rebounds.
