Leif Shiras is one of the most popular and richest Tennis Player who was born on August 21, 1959 in Norwalk, Connecticut, United States. As an athlete, Shiras reached one top-level final – the Queen’s Club Championships in 1984 in which he fell in the final to John McEnroe 1-6, 6-3 2-6 (having defeated Ivan Lendl in the first round). His most impressive singles performance in an Grand Slam event came at Wimbledon in 1989, when Shiras reached in the 4th round. His career-high rank is World No. 31, in the singles (in 1984) and World No. 57 in doubles in (in 1988).
As of 1995, Shiras took home the Wimbledon over-35 doubles title (partnering Paul McNamee).
Shiras was released from the professional circuit in the year 1990. Since then, he’s worked as a journalist for tennis mostly as a tennis commentary for Tennis Channel, British Sky Sports and Fox Sports. Since 1993, Leif has relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is now is based located in Laguna Hills, California, with his two sons Emmett and Austin and his wife, Maria.
