Henry Oryem Okello is one of the most popular and richest Lawyer who was born on January 21, 1960 in Uganda. He was born 21 January 1960 in Chwa County, Kitgum District. His father was General Tito Lutwa Okello (1914-1996), who was President of Uganda from July 1985 to January 1986.
Henry Oryem Okello, a Ugandan politician and lawyer. He is currently the State Minister for International Affairs. In 2004, he was elected to this position. He was able to retain his position in the cabinet during the cabinet reshuffles that took place on 1 June 2006, 16 February 2009 and 27 May 2011. From 2001 to 2005, he was the State Minister for Sport. He is also the elected member of parliament for Chua County, Kitgum District.
During the 2006 elections, he did not contest for his parliamentary seat. He was a cabinet minister, so he remained an ex-offico member of parliament. He was a member the government delegation to Juba peace negotiations between the Ugandan Government representatives and the Lord’s Resistance Army. He was often the Deputy Leader for the Uganda Government Delegation. It was led by Ambassador Ruhakana Rugunda who was at the time the Ugandan Minister for Internal Affairs.
