After Davidson had returned to wheelchair tennis, he teamed up with Dylan Alcott in winning the prestigious BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Tokyo, Japan, in May 2016. They defeated Great Britain in the final. Alcott and Davidson won the Men’s quad doubles gold medal at Rio Paralympics. They beat Nick Taylor and David Wagner in the gold medal match, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. Davidson was awarded the Variety Australia Young Sports Achievers award in 2003 together with Dylan Alcott. He was Tennis Australia’s Most Outstanding Tennis Athlete with Disability in 2016. He shared the title with Dylan Alcott, his doubles partner. In 2017, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
